NAND Technologies AS (Norwegian org. no. 930 905 658, Brusdalsvegen 465, 6260 Skodje, Norway) is the controller for personal data on distancemade.com. Send questions to hello@distancemade.com.
What we store
- The route you upload (the GPX file) and the poster you make from it.
- The photos you add to the poster.
- Your email address, so we can send you the poster and the receipt.
- The order: product, price, any gift message and, for printed posters, the delivery address.
- If you buy a gift card: your email address, and the recipient's name and the message if you add them.
- If you ask to hear when we ship to your country: your email address and that country.
We use this only to make and deliver your order, answer your questions and, if you asked for it, tell you when we ship to your country. The legal basis is our agreement with you, or your consent for the launch email. We don't sell your data and don't use it for marketing.
Who else gets data
- Stripe handles the payment. Card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored by us.
- Gelato prints and ships physical posters, and gets the poster file, your name and your delivery address.
- OpenAI makes the painted map when you choose it. Only the map section is sent, not your photos, name or email address.
The website and email run on Databank's own servers in Norway.
Your country
To show whether we ship to you, our server looks up the country of your IP address in a local copy of the free DB-IP database (IP geolocation by DB-IP, CC BY 4.0). The lookup happens on our own server and the address is not stored or sent anywhere.
How long we keep it
Posters that are not ordered are deleted automatically after a few hours. We keep the files for a paid poster until the order has been delivered, and for 90 days at most. The order itself (what was bought, when and by whom) must be kept for five years under the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act. A launch email signup is deleted once we have told you, or earlier if you ask.
Visitor statistics
We count anonymous visits with Umami, without cookies, stored by Databank in Norway. We can see which pages are visited and which choices are made when a poster is put together (such as format and map style), but not who you are.
Error reports
If something goes wrong on the site, an error report goes to our own error log (Sentry), stored by Databank in Norway. It holds no name, email, address or photos of yours. The report may include a recording of the last clicks before the error, with all text, fields and images hidden. Ordinary visits without errors are not recorded.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, as far as the law allows. Write to hello@distancemade.com. If you think we handle personal data against the rules, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or the data protection authority where you live.
